Richard M. Lipton, one of the handful of tax lawyers in the US who qualifies as pre-eminent, is interviewed by William D. Elliott as part of Tax Legends film series. Lipton is with Baker & McKenzie and most well known for having served as Chair of the ABA Section of Taxation. A prolific writer and speaker, his intellectual output on tax law dwarfs just about everyone. Dick Lipton pioneered the practice of partnership and real estate tax at his firm. Dick will talk about his career starting at the University of Chicago Law School, to clerking at the Tax Court, to his substantially productive legal career at multiple law firms, and his deep involvement and leadership in the ABA Section of Taxation.
